General
We have a strict no refund policy. Our registration platform does offer optional race insurance at the time of event registration. This insurance does protect the runner in certain situations. Those refund requests need to be made through your race roster registration account. If you did not purchase insurance, we do offer a race-to-race transfer option.
• RACE TO RACE TRANSFER: If you are more than 30 days out from your originally scheduled event, we will transfer your race registration to any of our other races within a 12 month period of the race you are missing. If you encounter this situation, please EMAIL us at racesandiego@outlook.com to receive additional transfer details.
• 50% OFF YOUR NEXT RACE: If you are inside the 30-day window of your registered event, we no longer allow race to race transfers, but we will be able offer you a 50% off discount code to use at another race. Please email us at racesandiego@outlook.com (mailto:racwesandiego@outlook.com)to receive this code.
Yes, you may transfer your registration to another runner. You may do so through the registration platform (Race Roster). On the registration details there should be a men item for "Transfer". The registration platform MAY charge you a small $5 fee for processing.
Yes. As long as the event has not been sold out online. Race San Diego does offer race day and packet pick-up registration at ALL events. Race day registration opens 1 hour prior to start of the race. In the circumstance online registration is closed due to selling out, then we will not offer this option. Please check online registration prior to arriving onsite the morning of the event.
Yes. You may upgrade or downgrade your race at any time leading up to the respective race. You can complete this through the Race Roster platform and your account. If upgrading the registration platform will charge you the upgrade fee. There are no refunds on downgrades.
Unfortunately, we will not be offering a gear check at most of our events. If we do, then those details will be specific to that race.
Yes, aid stations will be provided on the course and at the finish line at all of our races. Course aid stations will include water, electrolytes, and some form of nutrition. Finish Line aid station will be a water station only.
We only offer a cash prize to the "ELITE" 10K runners only at the KOOK RUN. All other event winners will receive overall or age group category medals or prizes.
No wheels are allowed on course. Please leave your wheels at home
In some cases our races are sanctioned by the USATF, meaning we honor their Age Group categories. Otherwise the Age Groups are defined as the following:
• 19 years and under
• 20-29 years of age
• 30-39 years of age
• 40-49 years of age
• 50-59 years of age
• 60-69 Years of Age
• 70+ Years of Age
No. We apologize but runners are not permitted to run with their dogs, even leashed, during any of the Race San Diego events. Reasons being amount of runners, type of terrain, and other added complications.
Yes and No. We are only able to allow strollers at certain events due the nature of the course or terrain. In most cases it is available, we request you email us directly to confirm that strollers are allowed at specific events.
It's all about safety first. In a natural disaster circumstance, Race San Diego and the permitting municipality will make a decision based on park, trail, or road impact and participant safety. Race dates and courses will be adjusted as seen fit. Runners will be transferred to the rescheduled date at no charge. If a runner cannot make the new race date, they will have be given the choice of transferring the registration to another race within the series. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. The runner understands the risk of his or her own entry fee.
